Zaixin x GERI — Innovative Artistry introduces the world’s first illuminative interactive knit bag. This pioneering collection is born from a deep collaboration between the visionary artistry of Dr. Kan Tai Keung and the innovative intelligent textile technology of GERI.

In this dialogue between ink and light, Dr. Kan’s artistic philosophy—channeled through his cultural brand “Zaixin”—finds a new dynamic expression. Concurrently, GERI’s patented photonic fiber and interactive knit technology discovers its ultimate canvas. The result is not merely art applied to technology, nor technology used as a simple tool; it is a fusion that creates a new interactive medium.

The collection invites you to move beyond observation to participation. The fluid drape of the intelligent textile follows the original brushstrokes, while its illumination can be customised via mobile application, transforming the bag into a living canvas that accompanies your daily life.

Textile as Canvas

Stitch by stitch, an evolving artistic scene is knitted into being. This collection, “Zaixin x GERI,” is a dialogue between two disciplines: the fluid philosophy of Dr. Kan Tai Keung’s Chinese ink painting and the luminous potential of intelligent textiles. Each piece is not merely made, but composed—its narrative revealed through dynamic illumination that breathes new life into classic forms.

Through an alchemy of complex knit structures and patented technologies, the dynamic brushwork and spatial depth of Kan’s paintings are translated into a soft, tactile medium. This is where art becomes interactive, inviting you to engage with its layers of meaning and light. The result is a companion for the modern connoisseur, designed to transition seamlessly from day to night, carrying its own quiet radiance.
“Zaixin x GERI: Innovative Artistry”, sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, is a celebration of Hong Kong’s creative spirit and reimagining heritage through technology and modern design.

This project is the result of a principal collaboration between Dr. Kan Tai Keung and GERI. Their partnership served as the core for a cross-disciplinary innovation that encouraged experimentation and challenged creative norms. The realisation of the work was made possible with valuable contributions from DEMO (Derek Chan & Mite Chan), The Tapestry Studio (Amy Chow), Amazing Angle Design (Benny Au and Teresa Chan), and Ringo Tang Photo Workshop (Ringo Tang). This collective effort fostered a genuine exchange of energy and ideas, moving beyond aesthetics to create a meaningful dialogue.
